DINING DIVASWould you like to get to know other women from our church in a deeper way - their backgrounds, dreams, struggles, lives? Get to know whom you are greeting in Sunday worship other than, "Hi, my name is _____________"?Dining Divas has been described as "accelerated friendship making". It's an opportunity to dine with a small group of up to seven other women in a hostess's home, on either Tuesday or Thursday of the third week of every other month. There are opportunities to sign up for either of those days, for a simple noon-time or evening meal prepared by the hostess. The groupings continually change over the months so that you will have the opportunity to croaden the number of ladies you are acquainted with at DBC, and all this is within the comfortable setting of someone's home. So please come and be blessed, and be a blessing to others as we get to know one another at a more intimate level. BIBLE STUDYTwo women's Bible Studies are offered during the school year: Tuesday mornings from 10:00 am - 11:30 am and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm. This year we will be doing a Beth Moore Study entitled Stepping up, a journey through the Psalms of Ascent. As explained in the introduction of the workbook, Eugene Peterson describes the Psalms so well:
"There is no literature in all the world that is more true to life and more honest than Psalms, for here we have warts-and-all religion. Every skeptical thought, every disappointing venture, every pain, every despair that we can face is lived through and integrated into a personal, saving relationship with God - a relationship that also has in it acts of praise, blessing, peace, security, trust, and love."Join us this Fall as we go to a new level of intimacy with God and each other through the study of this deeply personal Book. |
Heart To Heart
These high commitment groups are made up of six women and are held in either homes or at the church, either in the evenings or in the mornings. A book is read and discussed and the focus is on sharing and prayer. Confidentiality is a priority. Come share your burdens, voice your praises and be an encouragement to others. SPECIAL EVENTSKick -Off Tablesscapes LuncheonAn annual luncheon to "kick-off" the year's events and to learn about the many and varied opportunities offered by the Women's Ministry. A gifted speaker with an inspiring testimony sets the tone for the event and a delicios lunch is served at tables that are gorgeous, fun and creative. The challenge is for everyone to get conneted and to become more meaningful in each other's lives and in the lives or others through biblestudy, upcoming events, and many ministry opportunities that challenge you to use your gifts or discover onces you didn't know you had. Two women from our congregation give their testimonies and dessert is served. ANNUAL RETREATWhy Women's Retreats? It is about transforming lives through a meaningful experience with God and His community by providing an atmosphere where all types of women are able to live in the midst of authentic community for several days. The word "retreat" means to draw back to a place of refuge, privacy or safety, sometimes to escape danger or difficulty. Psalm 46:10 says that we are to be still and know that He is God. How often are you still? How often do you put away your to do list to focus on knowing God? How often do you assess the direction of your life and relationships?
